How are you? I hope you’re doing well adjusting to your environment there in England. The climate and the way of living there is really different from the Philippines. Everything there is expensive, I guess. Even a piece of banana, your favorite fruit there worths a pound and that’s like a hundred pesos here?
When you left the Philippines, you could barely converse. You’re probably two years old or something. In a few years, when you come back, you’d probably be speaking English with a British accent. Well, I promised you, my baby cousin, I won’t be intimidated. I’d even like you to teach me how Harry Potter speaks.
Well, when you come back, I hope you have some ‘pasalubong’ for me. But more importantly, I hope you will not forget what you truly are and where your true home is. I hope that even while you are immersed in British culture, you will always remain a Filipino by virtue of your values and that you will remain faithful to your nation despite its turmoils and imperfections.
