My Mundane Summer Routine + Movies I watched

>This is how boring my life is at home.
These are the stuffs I do to at least, retain the sanity despite the boredom that’s torturing me and slowly killing me.

5:30 AM — Stir around the bed, waiting for all my muscles to finally shrug off all the laziness
5:35 AM — Get off the bed, change into snickers, put on a sweatshirt
5:40 AM — Warm up
5:45 AM — Commence jogging from house to the highway.
6:00 AM — Return to the house and do random exercising until 6:15 or until 30 minutes has passed from the commencement of the jogging. (I make sure I do 30 minutes of exercise a day. My jogging might be less than 30 minutes, so I finish up at home doing anything random like dancing, jogging in place, jumping jacks and sit ups)

6:30 AM —  A very disciplined breakfast, which means, controlled intake of rice

I start my day so early, that it’s excruciatingly long, especially when I have nothing significant done at home.

Probably by 7AM, I doze off again, I wake up probably about 10AM, perhaps then take a bath or boot my laptop and check if the neighbor had opened their WiFi. Then, I’d try to connect and I there is no signal, I’d retire to my room again and read Harry Potter 7, (for the third time, and first time after four years).  If there is an Internet connection, either I would blog or play Flyff until evening.

At times, I’d watch a good movie. (This is when there is no chance that our darling neighbor would turn on their WiFi and allow me to connect.)

These were the movies that I’ve watched since the beginning of the summer:

1. Flipped— Aaawh… It’s a nice innocent story about first love and the difference of a girl’s and a boy’s point of views when it comes to LOVE.

2. No Strings Attached — I’ve fallen in love with Ashton and with Natalie Portman. Speaking of Portman, she’s my favorite star now. Not because she could be a real seductress with her movies (Black Swan, No Strings Attached and The Other Boleyn Girl), but because I found out she’s one of the most intelligent Hollywood star. She finished high school with a 4.0 GPA and attended Harvard University, major in Psychology.

3. The Holiday–   Let me share to you my favorite quotes of the movie: 

I’ve found almost everything ever written about love to be true. Shakespeare said “Journeys end in lovers meeting.” What an extraordinary thought. Personally, I have not experienced anything remotely close to that, but I am more than willing to believe Shakespeare had. I suppose I think about love more than anyone really should. I am constantly amazed by its sheer power to alter and define our lives. It was Shakespeare who also said “love is blind”. Now that is something I know to be true. For some quite inexplicably, love fades; for others love is simply lost. But then of course love can also be found, even if just for the night. And then, there’s another kind of love: the cruelest kind. The one that almost kills its victims. Its called unrequited love. Of that I am an expert. Most love stories are about people who fall in love with each other. But what about the rest of us? What about our stories, those of us who fall in love alone? We are the victims of the one sided affair. We are the cursed of the loved ones. We are the unloved ones, the walking wounded. The handicapped without the advantage of a great parking space! 

 I understand feeling as small and as insignificant as humanly possible, and how it can actually ache in places you didn’t know you had inside you, and it doesn’t matter how many new haircuts you get, or gyms you join, or how many glasses of chardonnay you drink with your girlfriends… you still go to bed every night going over every detail and wonder what you did. –Iris

Both are quoted from Iris, one of the female leads played by Kate Winslet. I was ‘Aawh-ing’ when she talked about Unrequited Love. Because like her, I’m a victim as well. In the end, Iris found her true love in Miles, and lucky her! Whereas me, my sad unrequited love story has not yet ended. I hope it’s going to be a happy ending or if not, I hope I can just move on, for crying out loud! I am, after all, I believe the leading lady of my own life.

4. Letters to Juliet—  Makes me want to wish I’d find the truest form of love, the one that never fades even after half a century. I don’t know, but I guess I’m just a major weeper. I so cried, when ‘Love Story’ by Taylor Swift was played in the background. Hahaha. I was so touched by the letter Sophie wrote as a reply to Claire’s letter to Juliet.

Dear Claire, “What” and “If” are two words as non-threatening as words can be. But put them together side-by-side and they have the power to haunt you for the rest of your life: What if? What if? What if? I don’t know how your story ended but if what you felt then was true love, then it’s never too late. If it was true then, why wouldn’t it be true now? You need only the courage to follow your heart. I don’t know what a love like Juliet’s feels like – love to leave loved ones for, love to cross oceans for but I’d like to believe if I ever were to feel it, that I will have the courage to seize it. 5. Bride Wars— It’s a very hilarious, but touching story. In then end, you’ll realize that sometimes, Love can be found with the a spouse to celebrate your dream wedding with, or  with that pne person you can count on for a long time: Your friend.

 Actually, these movies were just the most inspiring and heartrending films I watched. These were the movies I stifled tears and shed maybe little droplets of them. These were the movies that got me reflecting about my lousy love life. Hahaha… No rush in that one, though. Well, honestly, these movies, for a hopeless romantic and never-been-in-a-relationship girl like me, made me yearn for that day when I’ll discover the greatest joy in love since I had enough of the pains in it. These movie, made me feel expectant and inspired. I’d recommend them if you’re a sucker for romantic comedies and a bit of love story drama. I recommend them whether you’re someone who’s already found your ‘the One’ or you’re someone like me, still waiting for ‘the One’ to introduce himself.
